New Beatles Bootlegs ..

They're finally coming .. With unique CDs included within the package.
Yes, the new HMC LPs are soon to be released on to the public. The Christmas themed LPs are first with the Get Back release to follow later on this year.
For the McCartney "Unforgettable" LP we have a reconstruction of the acetate that Paul sent the other Fabs while playing DJ on "Radio Pauline" ( An obvious spoof of the 1960's offshore pirate radio station Radio Caroline. ) The CD features the tape as found with John's absurdist doodlings over Paul's DJ parts & other "Rubber Soul" era demos.
The track listing for the LP is relatively unclear with most tracks being given a rough listing name but in an effort to clear these things up I've tried to split them up in to legible tracks :
"Radio Pauline"
Nat King Cole "Unforgettable"
Peter & Gordon "Someone Ain't Right"
"Radio Pauline"
The Beach Boys "I Get Around"
"Radio Pauline"
Martha & The Vandellas "( Love is Like A ) Heatwave"

Syd Inside ..

A quick look at more of the Syd vinyl release ..

Tuesday, 25 January 2011

Coming soon from the Aurora Australis label a collection of Syd Barrett tracks from the archives of Malcolm Jones & Peter Jenner - Erstwhile Barrett producer & ex-Floyd manager both. The sources are said to be fantastic for this release & some of the tracks didn't even see the light of day on the brilliant & extensive internet tree "Have You Got It Yet"
The label usually presses their stock on various different colours of vinyl .. It remains to be seen which colours we get this time .. Stay tuned!

( Not So ) Hot Wax

Taking some time time to chill out & listen to this ..

One of the earlier & more famous Dylan boots from the TMOQ era. A nice compilation but as must of these have been released in better quality later on then it's a non specific curiosity.

More Exile ..

"More Exile On Mail St"
Released after the official version of the Stones classic album - More a pirate version of the bonus CD or extra LP. The cover is essentially a green & white slip sleeve just like the boots of old designed to look like an inner from "Exile On Main Street". The LP is quite heavy ( Around 120 - 140 grams ) with just a plain white label. The sound quality, as might be expected from a pirate, is very good. Found it to be a LOT cheaper than the CV too.

The track listing :
"Side 3"
Pass The Wine ( Sophia Loren )
Plundered My Soul
I'm Not Signifying
Following The River
Dancing In The Light

"Side 4"
So Divine ( Aladdin Story )
Loving Cup ( Alternate Take )
Soul Survivor ( Alternate Take )
Good Time Woman
'Title 5'

Coming Soon On HMC ..

The news is out!
Forthcoming product on HMC in 2011 includes :

HMC 011 - Unforgettable - The McCartney Christmas Album (LP + CD)

Apparently a lift from one of four acetates made by DJ Paul McCartney circa 1965 with Paul spinning some of his favorite songs from that year & playing with his tapes in the music concrete style that he has become accustomed to after listeing to Karlheinz Stockhausen - one of each disk was given to his fellow Beatles for their listening pleasure & this disk could have come from John Lennon's archives.

HMC 012 - Christmas Album (LP + CD with 26 minutes of new Christmas outtakes)

Every few years more Crimble outtakes surface deep from the vaults of EMI with the last being about 4 years ago. 26 minutes of new chatter while the Beatles recorded for their flexi disks for fan club members could be released ..

HMC 013 - Get Back Continued (LP + CD with unreleased studio outtakes)

Even after the avalanche of Let It be / Get back outtakes in 1999 / 2000 there are still bits & pieces missing from the full nagra reels that could have been taken home with production staff from the Let It be film. Quite how much there is left to be released remains to be seen but new Beatles stock is worth gold.

These disks are rumored to be limited to 1000 each. More details are certain to follow ..

Allen's Psychedelic Breakfast

A vinyl copy of this previously booted avant-garde section from the 'Ummagumma' LP. Taken from the show in Sheffield, South Yorkshire on the 22nd of December 1970 ( Which has previously been extensively bootlegged here : http://www.collectorsmusicreviews.com/pink-floyd/pink-floyd-the-ultimate-breakfast-devils-breath-db-001-2/ ) - This recording is the only known live version to be released of this track so far.
The B-Side is 'Careful With That Axe, Eugene'.

The sound quality is marginal but can still be heard clearly enough, especially through headphones.
This issue is in mottled yellow vinyl.
Catalogue number 1-A-1 & 1-B-1.
